Magick

Magick is the Science and Art of causing Change to occur in conformity with Will. This can be done through Thought Form, Candles, cords, poppets, or countless other methods. Magick asserts influence on the world, including events, objects, people, and all aspects of life. The spelling with the terminal “k” was popularized by Aleister Crowley when he introduced it as a core component of Thelema, in order to differentiate between Magic (sleight of Hand) and Ritual Magick.

Broken down to a very finite level, Magick is the older sister of Physics. It is the objective of physicists to study a wide range of physical phenomena spanning all length scales: from the sub-atomic particles from which all ordinary matter is made (particle physics) to the behavior of the material Universe as a whole (cosmology). We as magick users are simply a different variety of physicists, we make use of the same laws plus a few different ones, given our Periodic Table might look a bit different. Magick is not supernatural. Physicists have discovered that particles under study alter their movements and that you can change a thing merely by concentrating on it. That’s how magick works. Learning to successfully cast spells is the least of it.

Working on the assumption that you have read a book or two, you should already know many myths that are associated with magick and Spells. We hope you have also discovered that Witches do not “duel” or hurl lightning at one another. Magick is a force utilizing knowledge to change the changeable, Like anything else, you’ll get as much from magick as you put into it. Be realistic in your expectations. Magick is not the answer to everything, so recognize situations that are better dealt with by practical means.

Begining to work Magick, is not an easy decision for many to make, what if you flub it, what if it doesn’t come out right, what if someone gets hurt? Doubt in the results needs to be one of the first things you banish, you should be absolutely certain before embarking on any magickal endeavor. We won’t lie to you, some Pagans never cast spells, they simply live according to our crede and believe in the old ways. Using magick is not required, but at some point, you need to release your fear of considering magick as a tool.

Today’s magick is used not only in ritual ceremonies but also on a daily basis during spiritual communication with God and Goddess. It can be used daily for healing purposes and perhaps more frequently for personal purposes like reducing negativity, protection, gaining money (is always a big one), and improving yourself. It can be used for many other purposes as determined by the individual while bearing in mind “The three-fold law.”

Magick begins within us as intuitive knowledge. It sits there deep in the back of your mind waiting to be used. The mind needs to be trained in the techniques of Meditation, Visualization, Concentration, and Imagination. There are Three Key Factors one must be conscious of before endeavoring in any variety of magick, Will, Feeling, and Timing. All three are very simple concepts, but you need to be conscious of all of them before you begin preparing for any Spell Work.
